At the same time he took guest courses at the ETH Zurich with Professors Rahn and Graf, who also promoted him.

In 1898 Nüscheler converted to the Catholic denomination and carried out an order to renovate the glass paintings in the Königsfelden monastery church . Study trips to Germany and Italy followed. He then worked for the “Society for Zurich Heraldists and Historians”, the “Antiquarian Society” and the “Zurich Art Society”. From 1900 to 1901 he restored the stained glass windows of the Notre-Dame de Valère basilica in Sion .

At the Exhibition des Arts in Paris he received the Ordre des Palmes Académiques and was appointed officier d'académie . In France he carried out various orders for church windows, cabinet windows, mosaics and sculptures. When he carried out an assignment in Cairo in 1912, he had to interrupt it due to armed conflict and instead traveled through Egypt, Palestine and Greece.

Nüscheler married Marguerite, nee de Vevey from Estavayer in 1914 . When she died four years later, he married Elisabeth, née Ranacher from St. Gallen , in 1919 . They had four children together. From 1919 he lived and worked in Boswil , where he had bought the empty late Gothic-Baroque old parish church, including the Odilokapelle and the large parsonage. He set up his studio in the church. Today, the three buildings together form the Künstlerhaus Boswil .
