Richard Schering

Richard Schering (born February 6, 1859 in Berlin ; † August 9, 1942 ) was a German pharmacist and industrialist .

Life

Ernst Schering's son graduated from the University of Wroclaw with a degree in pharmacy . Here he joined the Vandalia country team . After completing his training, which took him to Paris and London, among others, Schering took over the management of his father's green pharmacy in Chausseestrasse in Berlin. In 1881 he founded the company R. Schering Fabrik chemisch-pharmzeutische Preparations , which today operates under the name Blücher-Schering GmbH & Co. KG . The company produced pharmacy goods such as pure malt extract , medicinal soaps and medicinal wines , including a very successful pepsin essence for the stomach at the time. He was a member of the Supervisory Board of Schering-Kahlbaum AG . After almost forty years as treasurer of the German Pharmaceutical Society , he became an honorary member in 1929.

Richard Schering died in 1942 at the age of 83. He was buried in the Schering family's hereditary funeral in Cemetery III of the Jerusalem and New Churches in Berlin-Kreuzberg . A centrally placed high cross made of reddish-brown granite, which stands on a square pedestal, serves as a grave monument for Richard Schering in the lattice grave complex.

Awards

Richard Schering was awarded the Red Eagle Order 4th Class, the Red Cross Medal 2nd and 3rd Class and the Jerusalem Cross . He carried the honorary title of Royal Prussian Commerzienrat .
