Richardis or Richgard (is) (* around 840; † September 18 around 900 in Andlau ) was the wife of Emperor Charles III.

The daughter of the Alsatian Count Erchanger from the Ahalolfinger family married Charles III in 862. and was crowned Roman empress with him in 881 . The marriage remained childless. In 887 she was accused of adultery with Chancellor Liutward von Vercelli - probably an intrigue for political reasons. She then withdrew to the Andlau Abbey, founded by her in 880 on her father's inheritance , where she was buried after her death (between 894 and 909). From 877 to 893 she was abbess of the Säckingen monastery and between 878 and 893 also abbess of the Fraumünster Abbey in Zurich . Both monasteries were royal monasteries, which were left to her by her husband for lifelong usufruct, as were the monasteries of St. Marinus in Pavia and the monastery in Zurzach .

Richardis is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church . Her feast day is September 18.
