The Rimbach is an approximately 10 km long tributary of the Goldach in the Upper Bavarian districts of Erding and Mühldorf am Inn , which runs through the Gattergebirge .

The Rimbach has two source streams . These arise northwest of Wies (east of St. Wolfgang ) at an altitude of around 560 m. The Rimbach flows first in an easterly direction, from the desert of Brenner in a north-easterly direction to Mitterrimbach . From here it runs in a northerly direction - separated by a hill largely parallel to the Ornaubach - to the confluence with the Goldach west of Schwindegg. Overall, the Rimbach overcomes a difference in altitude of around 110 meters.

The Rimbach is the namesake of the neighboring hamlets of Oberrimbach, Rimbachau, Mitterrimbach, Friedlrimbach and Rimbach (district of Schwindegg ). The most important historical place in the valley is the stately Kirchweiler Hofgiebing , which used to be a Hofmark seat with a castle. In addition, the Rimbach namesake of the Giebinger shooting club Rimbachquelle .

The Rimbach partially forms the border between the districts of Erding and Mühldorf (parishes of St. Wolfgang and Fürholzen ( belonging to Kirchdorf )) or separates the parts of Wolfgang Gatterberg and Schönbrunn from each other.
