The Rinchnacher Ohe is a 13 km long tributary of the Black Rain . It is created by the union of Hackenbach and Kühbach near Furthmühle in the municipality of Kirchberg im Wald and flows via Rinchnach into the Regener See , an artificial reservoir near the town of Regen .
Ecological importance
The Rinchnacher Ohe is an important part of the FFH area "Upper reaches of the rain and tributaries". Due to the relative naturalness of the river and its surroundings, many endangered animal species occur here, e.g. B. beaver , otter , grayling , brown trout , bullhead , tailor , minnow , freshwater pearl mussel , stone crab and crayfish .
Uses
Power generation
The water is used to generate energy by four small hydropower plants. Further small hydropower plants are in the source and tributaries.
fishing
The Rinchnacher Ohe is popular with anglers thanks to the good fish stocks. Mainly brown trout and grayling are caught with artificial bait , such as B. wobblers or blinkers , fished. Sometimes the water also offers enough space for fly fishing . The owner of the fishing rights is the Free State of Bavaria , which the right to the "Fischereiverein Zwiesel und Umgebung eV" has leased. For part of the Rinchnacher Ohe be Permits issued to non-members of the association.
Pearl fishing
In earlier times the Rinchnacher Ohe was an important river for pearl fishing, i.e. the extraction of pearls from the river pearl mussel . The owner of the pearl fishing rights is the Free State of Bavaria, which leased the rights to one of the last pearl fishermen, but the rarity of the mussels has made this use meaningless.
