Rita is a Danish television series that premiered on TV 2 in 2012 . The series has five seasons of 8 episodes each. The broadcast of the 5th season began in Denmark on July 1, 2020 on TV 2 and in Germany on August 15, 2020 on Netflix .

The series has been available on Netflix since 2015. It was filmed in the former national school “ National Innovative Center ” in Islev, Rødovre. An offshoot of the series called Hjørdis started in May 2015. The subject of the offshoot is essentially the same, but the students now form the center of the series.

action

The series is about the 42-year-old mother and teacher Rita Madsen, who is very headstrong and unconventional both in her job and in other life. Rita is divorced and has three children with her ex-husband, who lives in London: Ricco, Molly and Jeppe. Ricco is the eldest son and will marry Bitten during the first season. The two live in their own apartment and are expecting their first child together. Molly is unemployed and lives at home with her mother. She is dyslexic and therefore has little self-confidence. The homosexual Jeppe is the youngest of the three children at 15 and still goes to school. He keeps clashing with his mother because she often neglects her duties and doesn't take Jeppe seriously. In the third season, Jeppe finally moves in with his friend David. Rasmus is the headmaster of the school where Rita works and where Jeppe visits. Rasmus is in love with Rita, but at first she doesn't reciprocate his feelings. In the middle of the second season, the two enter into a love affair.

occupation

The synchronization of the first three seasons was done by VSI Synchron, that of the fourth season by Studios VOA. Katharina Gräfe wrote the dialogue books for the first three seasons and directed them, while Wieland Bauder wrote the dubbed books for the fourth season, with Christoph Krix directing the dialogue.
