history
Schomburg was first mentioned in 1229 as Scowenburc .
Schomburg Manor
The Schomburg rule was a manor with lower jurisdiction , which was under the Count of Montfort . The manor Schomburg was part of the knight canton of Hegau-Allgäu-Bodensee . The knight seat was Alt-Schomburg Castle . Its newer sister castle was expanded in 1754 by the Counts of Montfort to become Schomburg Castle . In the course of bankruptcy proceedings, the Counts of Montfort had to cede their property, including the Schomburg rulership, to the House of Habsburg in 1779 . With the Peace of Pressburg in 1805 these goods fell to Bavaria , which passed them on to Württemberg under Napoleon Bonaparte in 1810 .
Schomburg in the 20th century
The community belonged to the Oberamt Tettnang , was incorporated into the Oberamt Wangen on April 1, 1937 and incorporated into the town of Wangen im Allgäu on February 1, 1972 as part of the municipal reform in Baden-Württemberg . The Blausee (officially also Blauer See) is located south of Primisweiler .

There are two Catholic parishes in Schomburg, Primisweiler and Haslach with the parish church of St. Stephanus. The Protestant rectory in Amtzell is responsible for the whole of Schomburg , as there is no Protestant church in the village.
