Rob Hisey (born September 24, 1984 in Oakville , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who last played for the Grizzlys Wolfsburg in the German Ice Hockey League .
Career
In the 2001/02 season he began his sporting career with Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League . For the play-offs of the 2004/05 season he was appointed by the Reading Royals in their ECHL squad, so that he could celebrate his debut as a professional. He then moved to Finland, where he played a successful season with Ässät Pori , with whom he won the runner-up in the SM-liiga in the 2005/06 season . He then moved to the Hanover Scorpions , after a mixed season with the Lower Saxony, the collaboration ended. In the summer break of 2007 Hisey signed a new contract with his Finnish ex club Ässät Pori. In November 2007, Rob Hisey received a contract with the Graz 99ers in the first Austrian division , where he played until November 1, 2008. During the 2008/09 season, Hisey moved back to Hanover, this time to the Hanover Indians .
The Canadian spent the 2009/10 season with the Tulsa Oilers , with whom he was active in the Central Hockey League , and went to the Springfield Falcons during the season . By the end of the season, the attacker had played 37 games for the Falcons in the American Hockey League , scoring 25 points.
In August 2010, Hisey signed a one-year contract with the New York Islanders . However, he was used in the farm team at the Bridgeport Sound Tigers . In April 2011 he signed a contract with Black Wings Linz and returned to the Austrian Erste Bank Eishockey Liga . In 2012 he became Austrian champion with Linz.
In mid-February 2017 he left Linz for the German Ice Hockey League and signed with the Grizzlys Wolfsburg .
Style of play
Rob Hisey is characterized by his very elegant goals. For example, a goal in a penalty shootout with a turn by his own legs, or goals with a forked puck from behind the goal.
