Rob Minkoff (born August 11, 1962 in Palo Alto , California ) is an American film director , animator and screenwriter .

Act

Minkoff mainly shoots films for Walt Disney Animation Studios , his first short films were Tummy Trouble and Roller Coaster Rabbit from 1989 and 1990. Four years later he made his most successful film to date, The Lion King , together with Roger Allers . This has received numerous awards, including two Oscars and three Golden Globes . That same year, the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards recognized him for the best animation for the film. In 1999, Minkoff directed Stuart Little and its sequel, Stuart Little 2 . Just a year later, the horror comedy Die Geistervilla came out. Eddie Murphy plays the leading role . In 2008, he shot his first adventure film The Forbidden Kingdom with the martial arts stars Jackie Chan and Jet Li . Three years later (2011) came another comedy called Flypaper . Patrick Dempsey and Ashley Judd can be seen in the leading roles .

Private life

Minkoff has been married to Crystal Kung since September 29, 2007 .
