Robert Denmark

Robert Denmark ( Robert Neil "Rob" Denmark ; born November 23, 1968 in Billericay ) is a former British long-distance runner who had specialized in the 5000 meter run .

Life

In 1991 he won bronze over 3000 m at the World Indoor Championships in Seville and was ninth over 5000 m at the World Championships in Tokyo .

A seventh place at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona and a ninth place at the 1993 World Championships in Stuttgart was followed by the year of his greatest triumphs in 1994 : he won silver at the 1994 European Championships in Helsinki, and shortly afterwards, starting for England , he won the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria Gold. In a detour on the half-marathon distance , he finished seventh at the Great North Run . He achieved a time of 1:02:37 h on the track that was not suitable for the best list.

At the World Championships in Gothenburg in 1995 , Athens in 1997 and the 1999 World Cup in Seville, he was eliminated in the preliminary stages. At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 he started over 10,000 m , but also did not reach the final. The following year he finished eleventh in the Great North Run.

Robert Denmark is 1.73 m tall and weighed 61 kg at competition times. He started for the Basildon Athletic Club. After his athletic career, he became a Performance Lifestyle Advisor at the English Institute of Sport.
