Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award

The Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award was founded in 1984 by the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial to honor people who show courage and make a significant contribution to human rights in their country.

The majority of the award winners live in their home countries and are supported by the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial organization in advocating human rights. Since 1984, awards have been given to 39 people and organizations from 25 countries.
