Robert Joseph Shaheen

Robert Joseph Shaheen (born June 3, 1937 in Danbury , Connecticut - † August 9, 2017 in St. Louis , Missouri ) was an American clergyman of the Maronite Church and bishop of Our Lady of Lebanon in Los Angeles .

Life

Robert Joseph Shaheen was ordained a priest on May 2, 1964 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Our Lady of Lebanon in Los Angeles on December 5, 2000 . The Maronite Patriarch of Antioch and the whole Orient, Nasrallah Pierre Cardinal Sfeir , donated him the episcopal ordination on February 15 of the following year; Co-consecrators were Roland Aboujaoudé , Auxiliary Bishop in Antioch , John George Chedid , Old Bishop of Our Lady of Lebanon in Los Angeles, Stephen Hector Youssef Doueihi , Bishop of Saint Maron in Brooklyn , and Francis Mansour Zayek , Old Archbishop ad personam of Saint Maron in Brooklyn .

On July 10, 2013, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.

In 1998 he was accepted into the Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem by Cardinal Grand Master Carlo Furno and invested as Commander with a Star (Grand Officer) in September 1998.
