Robert Klimek

Robert Klimek (* 1969 in Lidzbark Welski , Poland ) is a Polish prehistorian , local historian and non-fiction author .

Life

After graduating from high school , he enrolled at the Pedagogical University in Olsztyn , studied social sciences and completed his studies as a Magister (mgr.) . He then began researching the prehistory and early history of the Pruzzen and Baltic countries and the western Baltic barrow culture . He became a member of the Prussian History and Culture Association 'Pruthenia' (Stowarzyszenie Miłośników Historii i Kultury Prusów 'Pruthenia') in Olsztyn and the Nasze Gady Association (Stowarzyszenie Nasze Gady) in Gady near Dywity .

He wrote monographs on the border area between Galindia and Pogesanien , the history of the Gmina Kruklanki and the Gau Barten with the tribe of the Barten as well as the 'Terra Gunelauke' (today Barczewko ). In 2010 he published the anthology on the historical and cultural significance of the stone statues (Baby pruskie) and in 2011 he wrote the work on the Wiesenburg on the Guber River , which Peter von Dusburg already described in his chronicle. He made a special contribution to the exploration and research of elongated earth walls made of tree trunks, fascines , stones and earth, etc. a. at Nerwik and Wały in Gmina Purda and at Barczewko, Bartołty Wielkie , Jonkowo , Kierzliny, Kielary, Kierzbuń , Łęgajny, Odryty and Parleza Wielka.

Robert Klimek is a long-time home curator for antiquities and soil monument preservation (społeczny opiekun zabytków archeologicznych) for the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .
