Robert Lawrance Lobe (* 1945 in Detroit ) is an American sculptor and draftsman who lives in New York .
life and work
Robert Lobe was born in Detroit and raised in Cleveland . From 1963 to 1967 he studied sculpture at Oberlin College in Ohio . He completed postgraduate studies at Hunter College in New York in 1968.
Lobe is known for works made of aluminum. He uses a sledgehammer , pneumatic hammer , and heat to create these sculptures. The shape, material and texture of wood inspire Lobe for his work.
