Robert Luschnik

Robert Luschnik (born January 10, 1967 in Graz ) is an Austrian politician. In December 2016 he was elected Federal Managing Director of the Greens , a position he held until the end of 2017. From May 2005 to January 2017 he was the club manager of the Greens in parliament. Since July 2019 he has been the federal managing director of NEOS .

Life

Robert Luschnik grew up in Graz, where he studied law at the University of Graz . He completed his studies in 1994 with a thesis on the subjective right to free access to environmental data according to the Environmental Information Act as a master's degree. From 1987 to 1992 he worked as a professional musician with the guitar .

He has lived in Vienna since 1994 and works for the Greens. Until 2001 he was the club director of the Vienna Green City Hall Club . He then held this position in parliament for the first time until 2003 , and after the National Council election in 2002 he was part of the Green negotiating team with the ÖVP . After working as a club director in the Lower Austrian state parliament , he was responsible for parliamentary affairs and finances as the club manager of the Greens in the parliament from May 2005 , alongside Doris Schmidauer , who was responsible for personnel and club management until January 2018 .

As part of the 2016 federal presidential election , he was a member of the board of the Association for Van der Bellen and was responsible for the legal issues of the campaign.Among other things, he acted as a delivery agent for Alexander Van der Bellen and took part in the hearing of the Constitutional Court to annul the runoff election on May 22nd 2016 part.

In December 2016, he was unanimously elected as the party's federal managing director as the successor to Stefan Wallner by the expanded federal executive committee of the Greens. He held this position until the end of 2017. In February 2018 he was succeeded by Angela Stoytchev as Federal Managing Director. Luschnik moved to NEOS in March 2019 , where he replaced Stefan Egger as Federal Managing Director in July 2019 .
