Robert Rivas OP (born June 7, 1946 in Arima ) is a Trinidadian clergyman and Archbishop of Castries .

Life

Robert Rivas joined the religious order of the Dominicans at and received on 17 June 1971, the priestly ordination .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Kingstown on October 23, 1989 . The Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in St. Lucia , Manuel Monteiro de Castro , donated him episcopal ordination on January 22 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Gordon Anthony Pantin CSSp , Archbishop of Port of Spain , and Kelvin Edward Felix , Archbishop of Castries.

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on July 19, 2007 Coadjutor Archbishop of Castries. After Kelvin Edward Felix's retirement , he succeeded him on February 15, 2008 as Archbishop of Castries.
