Robert Sacre (born June 6, 1989 in Baton Rouge , Louisiana ) is an American - Canadian basketball player and currently plays for the Sun Rockers Shibuya.
Life
Sacre was in the American Baton Rouge, the son of former NFL - Footballers Greg LaFleur and the former LSU Lady Tigers college basketball player born Leslie Sacre. His mother took him back to her native Canada at the age of 7 , so that Sacre grew up in North Vancouver , British Columbia . By eighth grade, Sacre was eight feet and one of Canada's top high school players.
In his freshman season he led the Handsworth Secondary School to the British Columbia Provincial Championship and was named MVP of the final game, which he finished with 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks . Due to his strong performance, he was appointed to the Canadian junior national team, with which he competed in the 2005 Global Games and in 2006 the qualification for the World Cup. Sacre finished his senior year of high school with 25 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 blocks per game.
college
Sacre was recruited prior to the 2007/08 season by Gonzaga University , playing in NCAA Division I. In his first season as a banker he was able to record an average of 9 minutes per game. After three games in the 2008/09 season, he broke his foot, which is why the entire remaining season failed. Sacre came back for the 2009/10 season and completed it as the Gonzaga Bulldogs starting center with a strong 10.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game.
Professional career
On June 28, 2012, the Los Angeles Lakers Sacre drafted the 60th and final pick of the 2012 NBA Draft . He played his first NBA game on October 31, 2012 against the Dallas Mavericks , and scored his first points five days later against the Detroit Pistons List.
Robert Sacre was delegated to the Los Angeles D-Fenders on October 28, 2012, and since then he has only played for the Lakers when needed.
Demand had been regular since the beginning of December, as the Lakers Big Men Dwight Howard , Pau Gasol and Jordan Hill were regularly out. On January 8, Sacre was due to acute personnel problems for the first time in the starting line-up of the Lakers, this game he finished with 10 points.
Sacre is a fan favorite in Los Angeles, despite his short working hours, as he celebrates special basketball successes on the bench in an entertaining way.
In the summer of 2016, Sacre moved to the New Orleans Pelicans , where he was weighed after only one pre-season game. In 2017 he therefore moved to the Sun Rockers Shibuya in the Japanese B.League .
National team
Sacre played the 2006 FIBA Americas Under-18 Championship for the Canada Junior Team. He averaged 9 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3 blocks, helping Canada finish fourth. Sacre was part of Canada's senior national team at the 2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey.
