Robert Wollenberg

Robert Wollenberg (born February 9, 1862 in Pelplin , Pommerellen , † August 16, 1942 in Berlin-Steglitz ) was a German psychiatrist and neurologist.

Life

Wollenberg attended the Königsberg Wilhelmsgymnasium and graduated from high school in 1879. He then studied medicine at the Albertus University in Königsberg , where he became active in the Corps Normannia in 1883 . As an inactive , he moved to the University of Leipzig . He was promoted to Dr. med. doctorate and licensed as a doctor . He worked at various psychiatric clinics in Prussia before going to the psychiatric clinic of the Berlin Charité in the three-year-old . Three years later he moved to the mental hospital at the Friedrichs University in Halle . There he completed his habilitation in psychiatry and neurology in 1892 . He became a professor in 1896. Wollenberg took up a position as senior physician at the Hamburg State Hospital Friedrichsberg (today's Schön-Klinik Eilbek). In 1901 he followed the call of the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen to her chair . As the successor to Ernst Siemerling , he took over the management of the Psychiatric University Clinic. When Wollenberg moved to the Kaiser Wilhelms University in 1906 , Robert Gaupp was his successor in Tübingen . Expelled from Strasbourg after the First World War , he went to the Philipps University of Marburg for two years . In 1921 he followed the call of the Silesian Friedrich Wilhelms University . For the academic year 1927/28 he was elected rector . In 1930 he retired . He spent his last years in Berlin and devoted himself to art and literature. Ernst Wollenberg was a brother.
