Roberto Aguayo (* 17th May 1994 in Mascotte , Florida ) is an American American football poker players on the position of the Kickers in the National Football League (NFL). He is currently a free agent . In college football he was active as a player for Florida State University .

college

Aguayo played college football at Florida State University in the Atlantic Coast Conference from 2013 to 2015 . He was a more than accurate kicker in these three years and hit 88.5% of his field goals and 100% of his extra point attempts , which were 198 kicks.
He was thus the most accurate kicker in the history of the National Collegiate Athletic Association to date .

NFL

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

In the 2016 NFL Draft , Aguayo was selected for a kicker very early in the 2nd round as the 59th player overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers .

In his 2016 rookie season , Aguayo was unable to build on his college football success . He turned only 22 of 31 field goal attempts and was the second worst kicker in the league this season with a hit rate of 71.0%.

On August 12, 2017, Aguayo was sacked by the Buccaneers before the 2017 season , after he again showed uncertainty in the first preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals , missed an extra point and a field goal and the Buccaneers in the pre-season with Nick Folk a second Kicker had signed.

Chicago Bears

Aguayo was signed by the Chicago Bears on August 13, 2017 . Before the start of the 2017 regular season  , he was released by the Bears.

Carolina Panthers

On October 25, 2017, Aguayo was signed by the Carolina Panthers and added to the Practice Squad . He spent the entire 2017 season in the Panthers Practice Squad, but was released at the end of the season.

Los Angeles Chargers

Aguayo spent the pre-season preparation for the 2018 season in the Los Angeles Chargers team , but could not win the starting place as a kicker against Caleb Sturgis despite solid performances in the preseason and was dismissed immediately before the start of the regular season .

His brother Ricky Aguayo plays college football for Florida State University , also as a kicker.
