Nicholas Alexander "Nick" Folk (* 5. November 1984 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American American football poker players on the position of the Kickers . He plays for the New England Patriots in the National Football League (NFL). He previously played for the Dallas Cowboys , the New York Jets and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers .
Career
college
Folk played American football and soccer in high school . He played as a kicker and punter . After graduating from high school, he studied at the University of Arizona and played American football for the Arizona Wildcats .

Dallas Cowboys
In the 2007 NFL Draft , Folk was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the sixth round as 178th player. The Cowboys hadn't picked a kicker or punter since the draft was shortened to seven rounds.
In his first year of play he scored 131 points, the highest score ever achieved by a cowboy kicker in one season. In the same year he moved into the Pro Bowl and was voted All Pro . He was the first rookie kicker to play in the Pro Bowl. Since Folk sustained a hip injury before the 2009 season , his use in the season was questionable. The substitute for Folk, David Buehler , drafted by the Cowboys , was not used. Folk recovered in time for the season. In the past few years, Folk has participated in several charitable activities of his team. He works closely with an organization that is committed to the fight against neurofibromatosis .
On December 21, 2009, Nick Folk was sacked by the Dallas Cowboys after missing at least one field goal in six consecutive games.
New York Jets
On February 23, 2010, he signed a contract with the New York Jets .
After seven seasons, Folk was released from the Jets on February 23, 2017.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Prior to the 2017 season , Folk was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to compete for the kicker position with Roberto Aguayo .
AAF
On January 26, 2019, Folk signed a contract with the Arizona Hotshots in the newly formed Alliance of American Football (AAF). After the eighth game day of the first season, the game was stopped due to financial issues.
New England Patriots
At the end of October 2019, the New England Patriots Folk signed. Because of an appendectomy, Folk dropped out for the Houston Texans game in Week 13 . After the Patriots signed Kai Forbath to replace this game, Folk was temporarily laid off.
