Robin Leblanc (born January 11, 1983 in Chur ) is a Swiss - Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with SC Langenthal since 2017 . He is the son of former NHL player Fernand Leblanc , who was playing in Switzerland when his son was born.

Career

Robin Leblanc began his career in the youth team of HC Ajoie before playing for Le Drakkar de Baie-Comeau in the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec from 1999 . In the 2001 NHL Entry Draft , he was selected in the third round in 67th place by the New Jersey Devils , but remained with his junior team. He began the 2004/05 season in the ECHL with the Long Beach Ice Dogs , but moved to HC Ajoie in Switzerland after 19 games. Since he obtained his first player license in Switzerland, he does not fall under the quota of foreigners when playing in Switzerland. This made him interesting for other Swiss clubs, so that he was signed by HC Davos before the 2006/07 season .

On September 23, 2006 Leblanc scored his first NLA goal in the game against Friborg-Gottéron . During the Spengler Cup 2006 he scored a goal in the final and helped the HCD to win against Team Canada . On April 11, 2007, he scored the only goal in the final game between HCD and SC Bern and thus won the Swiss championship title . Two years later he won another league title with the HCD before moving to Friborg-Gottéron within the league.

In January 2011 Leblanc signed a two-year contract for the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons with the SCL Tigers . For the 2013/14 season, the striker was signed by HC La Chaux-de-Fonds .
