Robin Lumsden
Robin Lumsden (born August 30, 1976 in Austria ) is an Austrian-American lawyer and entrepreneur and honorary consul of Jamaica.
Life
Robin Lumsden grew up as the son of the Austrian tennis player Lance Lumsden in Vienna and Lower Austria. His stepmother is Chris Lohner .
After he was active in tennis as a teenager, he decided in 1996 to pursue an officer career in the hunting command of the Austrian Armed Forces and was trained as an elite soldier. From 2001 to 2008 Robin Lumsden was quarterback for the Austrian American football team Baden Bruins / Südstadt Rangers in the AFL .
In 2003 Lumsden completed a minimum of law studies at the University of Vienna and in 2005 at the elite University of Berkeley . In 2008 he received his doctorate in Vienna as Dr. iur and passed the bar exams in Austria, New York and Washington DC
From 2017 to 2019, two further master’s degrees followed at Stanford University , one at the Stanford Graduate School of Business with a focus on economics and one with a focus on economics & policy , bitcoins and cryptocurrencies with Stanford professor and economist Susan Athey . His mentors include former US Secretary of State and Stanford professor Condoleezza Rice , political scientist Francis Fukuyama , long-time Google CEO Eric Schmidt, and Arnold Schwarzenegger's former cabinet chief David Crane .
Professional career
After working as a junior partner at Schönherr Rechtsanwälte , where he was a member of the team that oversaw the acquisition of Porsche by Volkswagen , Lumsden founded the commercial law firm Lumsden & Partners in 2013 with a focus on mergers & acquisitions , commercial law and blockchain . As a lawyer, he represents parts of the Schwarzenegger family in Europe and the USA and advised Sebastian Schwarzenegger on a blockchain project.
Lumsden was in 2010 the youngest honorary consul of Jamaica appointed in Austria. In 2011, at the age of 34, he was voted the second best lawyer in Austria in the " corporate law " category in a survey of law firms . In 2014, the then Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz appointed him integration ambassador to tell his successful integration story in education, work and society at schools and to discuss integration and migration with students. From 2013 to 2017 Lumsden was Vice President and Lawyer of the Austrian Tennis Association . From 2015 to 2019, Lumsden successfully defended Vienna Airport to defend against a $ 168 million lawsuit. In June he started an initiative to support disadvantaged children in Austrian schools.
