Robin Thomson (born July 23, 1989 in Hanover ) is a German - Canadian ice hockey player who has been playing for the Hanover Scorpions from the Oberliga since 2015 in the position of defender . He is the son of the former German national ice hockey player and current DEL coach Greg Thomson .

Career

Thomson played with the local Hanover Indians since he was a child . There the defender managed to establish himself in all youth teams. In 2005 he made the leap to the professional team of the Hanover Indians, who were playing in the major league at the time. With these he became champions of the Oberliga Nord in the 2008/09 season , after which the Indians rose to the 2nd Bundesliga . For the following 2009/10 season, the defender moved to the Manitoba Junior Hockey League for the Selkirk Steelers in Canada. However, the left shooter signed again in 2010 with the Hannover Indians, who are still playing in the 2nd Bundesliga, and received a sponsorship license for their 2nd team, the Hannover Braves . For the Indians, Thomson was on the ice for a little over a year this time and moved to the German ice hockey league after four matchdays in the 2011/12 season for city rivals Hannover Scorpions . For the 2013/14 season Thomson moved to the DEL2 to the Eispiraten Crimmitschau , which he left for the 2014/15 season in the direction of Heilbronner Falken , who also played in the DEL2.

International

Thomson represented Germany in various U16-U20 tournaments, including a. 2006 and 2007 at the World Junior A Challenge .
