Rodolphe Soutter

Rodolphe Soutter (baptized March 11, 1789 in Kölliken as Rudolf Suter ; † February 27, 1866 in Morges , entitled to live in Kölliken and from 1791 in Morges) was a Swiss politician .

biography

Soutter grew up as the son of a pastor and worked as a wine merchant and was a winery owner .

From 1839 to 1853 he was in the Grand Council of the Canton of Vaud and was elected to the newly created National Council in the first parliamentary elections in 1848. He was seated there until 1850. From 1846 to 1856 he was also a general councilor at the Cantonal Bank of Vaud .

Rodolphe Soutter was, as a close confidante of Louis-Henri Delarageaz , one of the leaders of the Association patriotique in the Morges section, which was founded by Delarageaz. This section also spearheaded the February Revolution, and Soutter agreed to take over this prefecture again. In October he left this office to Henri Reymond .

In the Swiss Army he held the rank of lieutenant colonel .
