Roger Bertemes
Roger Bertemes (born July 4, 1927 in Bögen bei Clervaux , Luxembourg ; † November 28, 2006 ) was a Luxembourg painter. He was one of the most important non-representational painters in Luxembourg.
Life
From 1961 Bertemes studied the techniques of etching in Johnny Friedlaender's studio in Paris and exhibited regularly at numerous international locations - including in Brazil , Argentina , Germany , Italy , Belgium , the Netherlands , Croatia and France .
From 1970 to 1987 Bertemes was head of the graphic arts studio at the Lycée technique des Arts et Métiers in Luxembourg, Beaux-Arts department.
He illustrated over 40 books by various authors and poets (including Edmond Dune , Victor Fenigstein , Emile Hemmen , Gaspar Hons , Félix Molitor , Anise Koltz , Nic Klecker , Nic Weber , René Welter , André Doms , Arthur Praillet , André Schmitz , Andrée Chedid , Philippe Delaveau , Jean-Pierre Geay , Denise Grappe , Eugène Guillevic , Guy Marester , Jean-Claude Renard , Joseph Paul Schneider , Michel Seuphor , Carlo Della Corte , Luigi Mormino , Franco Prete ).
His sons are the prehistorian François Bertemes (* 1958) and the photographer Paul Bertemes (* 1953).
