Roger Darrigade

Roger Darrigade (born January 14, 1935 in Narrosse ; †   November 4, 2009 ibid) was a French cyclist and national champion in cycling .

Athletic career

His greatest achievement was winning the French amateur road race championship in 1955, having finished third on the podium the year before when Roger Bourgeois became champion. In the same year his brother André Darrigade became champion in the professional road race. From 1956 to 1963 he was a professional driver . His first racing team was Helyett , in which Jacques Anquetil was the captain. There he won a total of eleven races, including the Tour du Loiret in 1960 . At the end of the 1970 season, he ended his career.

Honors

The US Dax association organizes the Prix ​​du Souvenir Roger Darrigade for young drivers every year .
