Roger Nikanor Haitengi (born September 12, 1983 in Poznan , Poland ) is a Namibian triple jumper .
Athletic career
Roger Haitengi gained his first international experience at the Summer Universiade 2005 in Izmir , where he finished 14th in the final with 14.84 m. In 2006 he took part in the African Championships in Bambous and finished eighth there with 15.76 m. In 2007, he reached for the Africa Games in Algiers with 15.94 m and fifth place at the World Student Games in Bangkok with 15,91 m ninth. In 2008 he was seventh at the African Championships in Addis Ababa with 15.84 m. At the Summer Universiade 2009 in Belgrade , he retired with 15.84 m in the qualification. In 2010 he finished tenth at the African Championships in Nairobi with 15.55 m.
Two years later he finished fifth at the African Championships in Porto-Novo with 15.87 m and at the 2014 African Championships in Marrakech he won the bronze medal behind South African Godfrey Khotso Mokoena and Tosin Oke from Nigeria with 16.72 m supported by the wind . At the African Games 2015 in Brazzaville he jumped to fourth place with 16.40 m and at the African Championships 2016 in Durban he was eighth with 16.20 m. In 2018 he took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast for the first time , where he also finished eighth with 16.24 m, before finishing seventh at the African Championships in Asaba with 16.11 m. The following year he took part again in the Africa Games in Rabat and was fourth there with 16.33 m.
2010 Haitengi was Namibian champion in the triple jump and in 2013 in the long jump. He is a graduate of Johannesburg University .
