Rohrbach (Steinau an der Straße)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rohrbach (also: Rohrbacher Hof and Rohrbacherhof ) is a deserted area in what is now the district of Steinau an der Strasse in the Main-Kinzig district in Hesse .

location

The desert is 250 m above sea level at the mouth of the Rohrbach in the Jossa west of the Steinau district of Marjoss , about 13 km southeast of Bad Soden-Salmünster .

history

Rohrbach probably fell desolate twice: in 1331 it was referred to as Wüsten rorbach, but was then used again. In 1787 the farm was again described as desolate.

The abbot of the Schlüchtern monastery owned three goods here in 1331, which were subject to interest and which had to do labor . At the end of the 15th century the interest rate was 21 Schilling Heller . At the time it was in use, Rohrbach was initially obviously a promising settlement. In 1379 it was even granted market rights . Rohrbach belonged to the Altengronau court . In the Holy Roman Empire, this initially belonged to the Hanau rulership , later to the Hanau county and then to the Hanau-Münzenberg county . However, the Counts of Hanau did not succeed in fully integrating the Altengronau court into their county in the process of territorialization . Thus , when Ulrich von Steckelberg sold his part of the Altengronau office to Ulrich IV von Hanau in 1379 , Rohrbach with his market rights excluded from the sale. 1510 allowed Landgraf of Hesse that Ulrich von Hutten his part at the deserted village, then a Hessian fief , pledged to the monastery Schlüchtern.

In the 19th century, the Rohrbach area belonged to the Electorate of Hesse and, after its administrative reform of 1821, to the district of Schlüchtern . With the Hessian regional reform from 1972 it was added to the district of Steinau.
