Roland Fidezius

Roland Fidezius (* 1972 in Wuppertal ) is a German jazz musician (double bass, electric bass).

Fidezius began playing the bass autodidactically, later he had lessons from Christoph Stowasser, Jan Kazda and Michael Schürmann ; He completed his double and electric bass studies at the Berlin University of the Arts , where he took lessons with u. a. Sigi Busch , David Friedman , Jerry Granelli , Kirk Nurock , Denney Goodhew , Peter Less , Till Brönner and Frank Möbus . From the early 2000s he worked in the German jazz scene a. a. with the formation Rob Bauer Consort , with whom the first recordings were made in 2003 ( Olivier ). In 2004 he recorded the album Oscar + Emma ( Konnex Records ) with the band Odd Shots, which he leads (with Richard Koch , Benjamin Weidekamp , Rudi Fischerlehner ) . In 2005 he received a scholarship from the Senate Department for Science, Research and Culture of the City of Berlin to study in New York; In 2006 he received an admission grant for the band Die Dreckigen Drei from the Berlin Senate. In the following years he was a member of the Loren Hargassner Quartet ( Diversityville 2007, Vitality 2011), and Peter van Huffels Gorilla Mask ; he toured with Gorilla Mask in Canada, Spain and Portugal. He also played with Benedikt Joch ( Conspiracy , 2008), in the Christian Krischkowsky Quartet, Marcus Klossek Electric Trio, as well as in the formations So Weiss (with Kristiina Tuomi and Susanne Folk ) and The Occasional Trio (with Simon Vincent , Rudi Fischerlehner); with Vincent he formed the duo MAC 'n BASS . He can also be heard on albums by Benedikt Jahnel , Tom Van Hasselt and the Sublimation Orchestra .
