Roland Moebius
Roland Moebius (born November 8, 1929 in Mödling ; † May 7, 2020 in Altenberg) was an Austrian architect .
Life
Roland Moebius studied with Franz Schuster at the University of Applied Arts Vienna . He married Monika Pflaum, a great niece of the banker Alexander Pflaum . In 1971 he founded the architecture office Marchart, Moebius & Partner in Vienna with Alexander Marchart , in which the architects Helmut Benesch and Josef Moser were also involved. The office planned a variety of public buildings, particularly hospitals and universities. Moebius has been a member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus since 1966 . When Marchart left the company in 1975, Moebius did the same, but Moebius was re-accepted as early as 1976. In 1999 he was honored with the Golden Laurel of the Künstlerhaus. In 2000 the Marchart, Moebius & Partner office was closed . The partner Helmut Benesch went into business for himself with the architecture office Benesch Architekten . The partner Josef Moser founded the architecture office Moser Architekten with his son Marius Moser .
