Rolf Unger

Rolf Unger (born December 21, 1919 in Schkeuditz ) is a former German functionary of the GDR block party LDPD . He was chairman of the LDPD district committee in Karl-Marx-Stadt and a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR .

Life

The son of a druggist completed a commercial apprenticeship from 1934 to 1937 after attending primary and commercial school and worked as an employee until 1939. At the beginning of the Second World War he was drafted into the army for military service and later became a prisoner of war . After his release he worked from 1945 to 1950 as managing director in his father's company. From 1950 to 1955 he was the administrative director of the Kirchberg Hospital.

Unger joined the Liberal Democratic Party of Germany (LDP, later LDPD) in 1946 and the FDGB in 1950 . From 1948 to 1955 he was chairman of the LDPD local group Kirchberg (Saxony) and from 1952 to 1955 also chairman of the LDPD district association Zwickau-Land . Unger was from 1954 to 1958 and from 1963 to 1967 member of the Karl-Marx-Stadt district assembly . In 1956 he became a full-time functionary of the LDPD and until 1958 worked as secretary of the LDPD district association Karl-Marx-Stadt. He then acted in 1958/59 as a department head in the secretariat of the central board of the LDPD. From 1959 to 1985 he was chairman of the LDPD district council in Karl-Marx-Stadt. At the same time, he was a member of the LDPD's central board (ZV) from 1959 to 1990 and deputy chairman of the DSF district board of Karl-Marx-Stadt from 1962 to 1974 , then a member of the district board and from 1959 a member of the Karl-Marx-Stadt district committee of the National Front . From February 1963 (9th party congress) to April 1987 (14th party congress) Unger was a member of the Political Committee of the ZV of the LDPD.

From 1954 to 1958 and 1963 to 1967 he was the successor candidate and from July 1967 to June 1986 a member of the People's Chamber . Here he was deputy from 1971 to 1976, from 1976 to 1984 1st deputy chairman of the mandate review committee and from November 30, 1984 a member of the committee for national defense (successor to the late Harald Werthmann ).
