The Rolls-Royce 103EX , which also bears the name Vision Next 100 , is the latest concept vehicle from Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Ltd. With this, Rolls-Royce would like to give an outlook for 2040. The vehicle is a strong departure from the usual drive concept: Today everyone is in series-produced Rolls-Royce from a V12 - engine operated. The 103EX, on the other hand, relies on an electric drive, as Rolls-Royce assumes that there will be no more V12 internal combustion engines in 2040. In the 102EX study , Rolls-Royce used electric motors instead of a combustion engine. The car also has no steering wheel, but drives completely autonomously .

It offers space for two people on a bench, who are given access by means of a combination of a glass roof that opens up like a wing door and a conventional door. The "dashboard" consists of a large display and a Rolls-Royce watch. There is a hold in front of the passengers, which has space for two custom-made suitcases. The loading floor can be extended electrically for easier loading and unloading.

The futuristic design is particularly aerodynamic without giving up the brand identity. The size corresponds roughly to that of the large production model, the Phantom . The 28 wheels, which are extremely large, are partially covered. The headlights are made with laser light technology, the body partly made of carbon. The Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament is made of glass and can be illuminated. This feature can already be found in the production models, but the figure there is made of Makrolon .

The vehicle will be on public display for the first time in the Roundhouse London from June 18 to 26, 2016 .

Naming

Rolls-Royce has meanwhile started naming the concept cars chronologically with Rolls-Royce 100 EX . Deviating from this numbering, this car has the second name Vision Next 100 .
