Roman Pindel (born November 18, 1958 in Auschwitz ) is a Polish clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Bielsko-Żywiec .

Life

He entered 1977 in the seminary in Cracow and received on 22 May 1983, the sacrament of Holy Orders . After years of chaplaincy in Kozy and Racławice , in 1986 he went to the Pontifical Theological Academy in Cracow for further biblical studies . There he obtained his licentiate in 1988 and received his doctorate theologiae in 1990 . From 1992 he taught in Cracow as a professor and completed his habilitation in 2001. He then went to Rome for a year at the Pontifical Biblical Institute . From 2004 he was Spiritual and from 2010 Regens of the Cracow Seminary. In September 2013 he was appointed President of the Conference of Regents of the Polish Seminary.

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Bielsko-Żywiec on November 16, 2013. The Archbishop of Krakow, Stanislaw Cardinal Dziwisz , donated to it on 6 January the following year in the Cathedral of Bielsko the episcopal ordination . Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio in Poland, Archbishop Celestino Migliore , and Pindel's predecessor Tadeusz Rakoczy .
