Roman Rafreider (born November 22, 1969 in Bregenz ) is an Austrian journalist and television presenter for Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF).

Life

Roman Rafreider studied in Innsbruck , Vienna and Paris Political Science and Jus . During his studies, he worked for various newspapers and began his journalistic career in the ORF regional studio in Vorarlberg in 1995, initially as an editor (Politics / EU department) and moderator of the radio journals, and from 1998 also as a television host for the Vorarlberg news program . In 1999 he joined the news desk of Zeit im Bild in the Vienna ORF center and became the moderator and head of the ZiB 3 service, the ORF's midnight news program at the time. This year ZIB 3 received the Austrian Romy TV Prize for the best program idea.

In 2002 he switched to the main evening reportage magazine Thema and in 2006 also took over the moderation of the ORF consumer magazine Gutberatung Österreich .

With the restructuring of the time in the picture returned broadcasts in April 2007 Rafreider in the newsroom back and anchorman became the new on ORF eins broadcast ZIB 20 and moderator of the ZIB 24 at midnight. In addition, he moderated the broadcasts on ORF Eins about the National Council election in Austria in 2008 (Wahl08) and, together with ZIB co-presenter Lisa Gadenstätter , on the federal presidential election in Austria in 2010 (Wahl10 - Meinefrage) . He was the presenter of the news programs ZIB 20 , ZIB 24 and ZIB flash until the beginning of October 2018. After a temporary special leave of absence due to a conflict with his former partner, mainly unobjected by the tabloid media , he was responsible for the development of new information programs on ORF Eins from February 2019. Since March 12, 2020 he has been moderating the news programs ZIB 18 , ZIB 20 , ZIB Night and ZIB Flash .

Roman Rafreider is unmarried and has one son. The national soccer player Fritz Rafreider was his uncle.
