Rosa Grünstein (born August 24, 1948 in Berlin ) is a German politician of the SPD , she was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg from 2000 to 2016.

education and profession

After attending school in Berlin, Evangelical School in Charlottenburg, and at the modern language high school for girls in Weiden in the Upper Palatinate , Rosa Grünstein became a clerk at the employment office in Schwandorf . Later she was employed as chief secretary at the University of Kaiserslautern in the biology department. From 1985 she worked as a self-employed real estate agent in Sandhausen .

Political activity

Rosa Grünstein became a member of the SPD in 1970. From 1979 to 1983 she was a town councilor in Dransfeld in Lower Saxony . From 1989 to 1998 she was chairwoman of the working group of social democratic women in the Rhein-Neckar district , from 1994 to 2003 deputy chairwoman of the SPD Rhein-Neckar and from 1999 to 2001 a member of the state board of the SPD Baden-Württemberg . She is also a board member of the Carlo Schmid Foundation and a founding and board member of the German-Israeli Society Palatinate in Speyer.

On January 4, 2000, Grünstein replaced Karl-Peter Wettstein in the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg. In the state elections in 2001 , 2006 and 2011 , she won the second mandate for constituency 40 (Schwetzingen) . From 2000 to 2011 she was a member of the Petitions Committee and the Environment Committee. In May 2011, Rosa Grünstein was elected deputy parliamentary group leader by the SPD parliamentary group in Baden-Württemberg. In addition, Grünstein was the spokesperson for foreigners, migration and integration policy for the SPD parliamentary group in Baden-Württemberg. To state election in 2016 it has not raced for more.

Family and private

Rosa Grünstein lives in Altlußheim . She is Protestant, widowed and has a son and a daughter and four grandsons. With her deceased husband Gerhard Greiner, who was mayor of Neulußheim , she founded the “Kulturtreff Alter Bahnhof” in Neulußheim. She appears publicly at readings, “Buch-T-ripp”, and as a lecturer for couples in Berlin dialect. Since 1998 she has been a lecturer at various adult education centers. She has been President of the Schwetzingen Mozart Society since June 2019 .
