Rosamund Kwan
Rosamund Kwan (actually: Kwan Chi-Lam, Chinese 關之琳 , Pinyin Guān Zhīlín ; born September 24, 1962 in Hong Kong ) is a Chinese actress .
Life
Kwan was born in the British Crown Colony of Hong Kong. Her father, Shaw Brothers star Kwan Shan , was from Shenyang and had Manchurian ancestors. Her mother, Cheung Bing Sai (張 冰 茜), was from Shanghai and also worked as an actress. As a child, Kwan went to Hong Kong's Maryknoll Convent School in Kowloon .
Career
Rosamund Kwan played in Powerman 2 together with the action star Jackie Chan , Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao , and then again with Jackie Chan in The right arm of the gods as well as in Project B . She starred with Jet Li in the films China Swordsman, Jet Li: The Scriptures of Death and in the series Once Upon a Time in China .
Although Kwan became internationally known for her roles in action films, she made most of her appearances in motion pictures. Her well-known dramatic roles include those in films with actor Andy Lau , including The Wesley's Mysterious Files and Casino Raiders . With Lau she also recorded the music album Love Forever .
In 2007 she announced the end of her career after she had her last film role in 2005. In 2008 she married the Taiwanese billionaire Chen Tai Ming. Since the wedding was kept secret, only her closest friends knew about it until 2010.
