Rose Marie Dähncke
Rose Marie Dähncke (born Kerszebinsky , * 10 February 1925 in Lübeck ) is a German mycologist and lives on La Palma . Your botanical-mycological author's abbreviation is " Dähncke ".
Life
Childhood and Education (1925–1939)
Rose Marie is the only child of Hans Heinrich Ferdinand Kerszebinsky, an engineer for surveying and Martha Syska. Rose Marie spent her early childhood on her grandfather's estate in Brinsdorf . The family then lived in Niederfinow for a few years . In 1929 she moved to Fürstenwalde / Spree , where Rose Marie attended elementary and middle school. From 1939 Dähncke completed a two-year training course at the commercial school in Berlin , from which she graduated as a secretary .
Work and family (1939–1953)
Her professional activity was significantly influenced by the Second World War : from 1941, Dähncke initially worked as a secretary to a lieutenant colonel at the Fürstenwalde pioneer park, then for a civil engineering company. At the age of 18, in 1943, she had to fetch 250,000 Reichsmarks from the Führerbunker in Berlin for work that had been done by the company. Later Dähncke was obliged to attend a welding course in Cottbus and then employed in welding work; after an illness she was employed again as a secretary at the high command of the armed forces in Fürstenwalde. Her mother fled with her to relatives in Lübeck in 1945. In Lübeck in 1946 she was given a secretary position with the head of the Lübeck Dermatology Clinic. Five years later she married Friedrich Karl Heinrich Dähncke, employee and later operations manager of the pharmaceutical factory Brunnengräber in Lübeck. In 1953 they had their daughter Sabine Maria.
Mushrooms and Emigration (since 1945)
She began studying mushrooms in Lübeck in 1945 with the help of two mushroom experts, the pharmacist Pawlenka and the senior teacher Walter Schwedesky. After a few years of practice, she was declared a mushroom consultant by her teachers.
After the divorce of their marriage, Rose Marie Dähncke went to Hornberg , where she headed the Black Forest mushroom teaching show , a municipal institution, from 1972 . She passed the mushroom expert examination at Hans Haas and was entrusted with the mushroom advice and training of mushroom advisors.
When Dähncke visited the Canary Island of La Palma with her daughter in 1979 , they decided to emigrate to the island and buy a finca . In his new home, Dähncke continues to work with mushrooms. For ten years, from 1983 to 1993, she partnered with Carlos Camprubi, a garden designer, orchid and rose grower. Rose Marie Dähncke devotes herself to orchids and watercolor painting in her free time ; she has exhibited several times in municipal institutions on La Palma.
Services
In Germany
Rose Marie Dähncke expanded the Black Forest Mushroom Show into a teaching institution, which was consequently called the Black Forest Mushroom Teaching Show . There she organized teaching programs, weekly courses, excursions and slide shows. In addition, she trained and tested over 500 mushroom advisors on behalf of the German Society for Mushroom Science (DGfP; today German Society for Mycology ), which corresponds to over a third of all German mushroom advisors at the time.
In the 1970s, Rose Marie Dähncke began to publish, first mushroom compass, then mushroom collector's cookbook , the first cookbook for mushrooms. Almost all of the recipes are from her. Dähncke was the first in Germany to begin with color photography of mushrooms on a larger scale. Her book 700 Mushrooms in Color Photos is considered a standard work. The volume 1200 Mushrooms in Color Photos , published later, was sold almost 100,000 times. In 1974 the town of Hornberg made a piece of forest available to her in Steinbis, where she was the first in Germany to plant larger cultures of cultivated mushrooms.
On La Palma
Since the shops in the 1980s on La Palma hardly offered "German" food, Dähncke and her daughter developed their own recipes that were published in several cookbooks. My island cookbook also contains experienced stories.
On La Palma Dähncke was able to detect over 1,300 types of mushrooms over the years and wrote the first book about the mushrooms on the island. Together with other authors, she was able to describe almost 30 new species for the first time. The species Entoloma rosemariae , Leucoagaricus rosemariae and Lyophyllum rosae mariae were named after her. The island government became aware of them and commissioned two CDs with mushroom topics as well as mushroom courses for the employees of the Medio Ambiente department. Every year Rose Marie Dähncke organizes a mycological meeting, which is attended by experts from numerous European countries.
