geography

The street village Rosenhagen is in the east of the city of Perleberg. Neighboring to the southwest is the Perleberg district of Düpow , to the northwest is Spiegelhagen . Lübzow joins in the north . In the northeast, Rosenhagen borders on the municipality of Groß Pankow (Prignitz) , in the southeast on the municipality of Plattenburg .

In the north, Rosenhagen extends to a forested chain of hills that runs east-west through the Prignitz . The Weisser Berg (80.7 m), Klapperberg (69.0 m) and Schwarzer Berg (75.6 m) elevations are located on Rosenhagener Grund.

The rose rises in the village, fed by the ditches in the street . The Düpower Graben flows in the south of the Rosenhagen area .

history

The first known documentary mention of Rosenhagen comes from the year 1312 ( Rosenhagen ). When it was named, the Rose stream, which rises in the village, played an important role.

In the middle of the 17th century, Hartwig von Platen , district commissioner of Prignitz, acquired the Rosenhagen estate. The tombstone of Hans Caspar von Platen (1678–1727) can still be seen in the village today. He had risen to the position of General War Commissioner in the Danish service and in 1713 became royal bailiff in Aabenraa . In the same year he was accused of embezzlement and was arrested until 1726.

On January 1, 1974, Rosenhagen was incorporated into the district town of Perleberg.

Buildings

The Rosenhagen church dates from the 15th century. In the 1970s, its tower top was removed because it was dilapidated, so that only the church hall can be used. Two bells now hang in a roofed wooden frame a few meters away from the church.

traffic

The Wittenberge – Strasburg railway line , on which the Prignitz Express runs today , touches Rosenhagen. However, no more trains stop at Rosenhagen station.

The Brandenburg state road L 101 runs through the town .
