Schönfeld is a district in the north of the city of Perleberg in the Prignitz district .
geography
Schönfeld is in the north of the city of Perleberg. Neighboring to the east is the Perleberg district of Wüsten-Buchholz , followed by the Quitzow district to the south . In the west and north, Schönfeld borders the municipality of Karstädt .
Federal highway 5 runs through the Schönfeld area .
history
Schönfeld was mentioned in a document in 1312 as a sconevelte .
In the 20th century there was a stop of the Westprignitzer Kreisringbahn in Schönfeld . Their operation was given up in 1975. Freight traffic on the section through Schönfeld was discontinued in 1992 and the line was subsequently dismantled.
On July 3, 1972, the community of Schönfeld was incorporated into Quitzow. Schönfeld and Quitzow were incorporated into the district town of Perleberg on December 6, 1993.
Buildings
The Schönfeld church dates from the Middle Ages. Since it was built, various maintenance and renovation measures have been taken that cannot be clearly dated. The boarded lattice tower was probably built in the 18th century. It also has a bell from 1525.
