The Rotax 277 is an air-cooled single - cylinder two-stroke engine with 26 HP (19 kW). It was manufactured by the Austrian company BRP-Rotax for use in ultralight aircraft .

construction

The Rotax 277 is either cooled by the airstream or a fan . It is lubricated by means of an oil / gasoline-fuel mixture. It has a single magneto ignition with a flywheel from Bosch . The speed of the mounted propeller can be selected in the ratios 2: 1, 2.24: 1, 2.58: 1 or 3: 1 via a reduction gear . In general, the engine is used with a towing propeller so that the propeller helps cool the engine.

The engine is no longer manufactured.
