The Rotax 462 is a two-cylinder two - stroke aircraft engine that was developed from a snowmobile engine. It was built by the Austrian company BRP-Rotax for use in ultralight aircraft . The engine is water-cooled and the lubrication takes place via an oil / fuel mixture. The speed of the mounted propeller can be selected in the ratios 2: 1, 2.24: 1, 2.58: 1 or 3.0: 1 via a reduction gear . The Rotax 462 was offered in two versions, a standard version with an output of 51 HP (38 kW) and a version with a lower output of 38 HP (28 kW). It is no longer in production.
