The Rote Wasser is an 18.6 km long, right-hand tributary of the Ohm from the Burgwald in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district , Hesse .

course

The red water rises west of the Franzosenwiesen , a moor and wet meadow complex in the central castle forest in the east of the district of Wetter . After passing the meadow in an easterly direction, the river crosses into the Rauschenberg area and soon afterwards changes its course to the south-east, after crossing state road 3077 ( Bracht - Rosenthal ) to the south, whereby it never stretches very far from the now westerly direction State road away.

After the state road in Bracht changes its course to the east and the Rote Wasser crosses a second time, the river from now on remains an eastern companion of the district road 3 in the direction of Schönstadt , which it crosses and on the southwest edge of which it flows around the Fleckenbühl estate on both sides. Then it flows, thereby u. a. for 2 km as an approximate border between Rauschenberg and Cölbe , as a western companion of the federal highway 3 to the south-southwest.

At the Chausseehaus , the B 3 crosses the river, after which the Rote Wasser touches Bürgeln in a slight eastward bend and finally flows in a south-westerly direction to the Ohm , which after less than 2 kilometers will feed the Lahn that passes to the west .

Mills
