Power generation

The power grid of the Rotwandhaus is operated entirely as an island system without connection to the public power grid. Electricity is generated by a photovoltaic system , a rapeseed oil block- type thermal power station and a vertical-axis wind power plant built in 2014 with a Darrieus helix rotor and a nominal output of 5 kW. The latter replaced a system from the early 1990s.
