Roy H. Wagner

Roy Henry Wagner III (born January 12, 1947 ) is an American cameraman .

Life

Even as a child and during his time at the College Wagner had many movies from the camera work, such as Jacques Tati My uncle or Charles Lang of The Ghost Breakers , a comedy starring Bob Hope fascinated and interested. He usually just called the cameramen of his favorite films and asked them to meet with them to talk about their work. His tremendous interest and willingness to learn as much as possible was so well received that some renowned cinematographers such as Harry Stradling Sr. , Joseph Ruttenberg , George J. Folsey and James Wong Howe, and many others became friends with him and called him Mentor stood by their side.

It was Harry Stradling who found him in the late 1960s as an assistant in films like Funny Girl and Hello, Dolly! helped to gain first practical experience. Wagner then hired himself as a camera assistant and it was not until 1985 that he was able to show his first independent camera work with The 9 Lives of the Ninja . In the following years, Wagner worked for both cinema and television productions. He has led the camera in films like Nightmare III - Freddy Krueger Lives and Drop Zone and series like Back to the Past and Burn Notice .

He is the brother of the cameraman John Wagner, with whom he has appeared in films such as Die Abservierer and Gegen die Zeit as well as series such as Six Under One Roof and Dr. House worked together.

Roy H. Wagner is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers .
