Rubén Oscar Frassia

Rubén Oscar Frassia (born December 1, 1945 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Avellaneda-Lanús .

Life

Rubén Oscar Frassia was ordained a priest on November 24, 1973 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Caeciri and auxiliary bishop in Buenos Aires on February 26, 1992 . The Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Antonio Cardinal Quarracino , ordained him episcopal on April 4th of the same year; Co- consecrators were Carlos Walter Galán Barry , Archbishop of La Plata , and Eduardo Vicente Mirás , Auxiliary Bishop in Buenos Aires.

On July 22, 1993 he was appointed the first bishop of the diocese of San Carlos de Bariloche , which was established on the same date , and was appointed to the office on October 15 of the same year. He was named Bishop of Avellaneda on November 25, 2000 and initiated into the office on March 3 of the next year.

On August 7, 2020, Pope Francis accepted Rubén Oscar Frassia's resignation.
