The Diocese of Avellaneda-Lanus ( lat. : Dioecesis Avellanediensis-Lanusenis , span. : Diócesis de Avellaneda-Lanús ) is in Argentina situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Avellaneda .
history
The Diocese of Avellaneda-Lanús was on April 10, 1961 by Pope John XXIII. with the Papal Bull Cum Regnum Dei from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of La Plata and the Diocese of Lomas de Zamora as the Diocese of Avellaneda . It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires as a suffragan . On June 19, 1976, the Diocese of Avellaneda gave parts of its territory to the establishment of the Diocese of Quilmes . The diocese of Avellaneda was renamed on April 24, 2001 in the Diocese of Avellaneda-Lanús .
