Rudens Turku

Rudens Turku (* 1978 in Tirana , Albania ) is an Albanian-German violinist who lives in Munich.

Life

Rudens Turku moved to Germany with his family at the age of 14. He studied with Ana Chumachenco at the University of Music and Theater in Munich. In 2004 he completed his studies with a master class diploma.

Performances have taken him to the most important concert halls in the world, including a. the Wigmore Hall in London, the Munich Philharmonic and the Cami Concert Hall in New York. Recordings of his concerts were made by BR , NDR , SWR and Deutsche Welle , among others . International from Radio France , BBC Radio and various American broadcasters.

His chamber music partners included u. a. the pianists Milana Chernyavska, Oliver Schnyder , Andras Adorjan , Ana Chumachenco , Lisa Batiashvilli , Arabella Steinbacher , Daniel Röhn , Julia Fischer , Veronika Eberle , Hariolf Schlichtig, Eduard Brunner, Wen-Sinn Yang and Alban Gerhardt . He is a guest at the renowned music festivals in Germany (including the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival , Rheingau Music Festival , Bodensee Festival).

As a soloist he gives concerts worldwide - u. a. with the Munich Chamber Orchestra, the Munich Symphony Orchestra , the Capella Instropolitana, the Jena Philharmonic Orchestra, the Georgian Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, Flying Strings.

Since October 2013 Turku has been professor for violin at the Vorarlberg State Conservatory of the City of Feldkirch in Austria and since 2016 at the Accademia Perosi in Biella , Italy. His students were successful in national and international competitions such as the violin competition "Rodolfo Lipizer Prize", Eurovision Young Musicians, Jugend Musiziert, Prima La Musica.

Turku is the founder and artistic director of the Starnberger Musiktage, which has been held annually since 2000, and of the Musiktage of the Olympiaregion Seefeld in Austria, which has been held annually since 2009.

He is the initiator and artistic advisor of the association “Friends of Rudens Turku e. V. ". Its aim is to promote highly talented young musicians.

The singer Fjoralba Turku is his sister.
