Rudi Fuesers

Rudolf "Rudi" Fuesers (* 16th July 1928 in Waldniel in Mönchengladbach ; † 29. April 2010 in Heidelberg ) was a trombonist of modern jazz .

Fuesers learned guitar from 1950, then moved to Frankfurt am Main and played in American clubs from 1952. From 1954 he learned the trombone, worked in dance bands, studied trombone and music theory at the Musikhochschule Mannheim from 1958 to 1960 and led a band with Bent Jædig ; In 1959 he played with Fritz Münzer and worked with Stu Hamer and Lennart Johansson . From 1962 to 1964 he worked in Madrid a . a. with Donald Byrd , Carmen McRae and Donna Hightower . From 1964 to 1969 he played in Max Greger's orchestra , as well as with Don Menza and the Bavarian Radio Jazz Ensemble . He was on tour with the German All Stars in Latin America. After 1969 he worked freelance and with his own quintet; he also took part in Peter Herbolzheimer's Rhythm Combination and Brass . In 1980 he played in Charly Antolini's orchestra ("In the Groove"). In the same year he founded the international salsajazz formation Connexion Latina , with which he appeared at the Berlin Jazz Days 1982 and released several albums. He later founded the Composers Improvisation Ensemble in Munich . In recent years he has also appeared again with Fritz Münzer.
