Rudi Zapf (born December 25, 1959 in Munich ) is a German musician and cabaret artist .

life and career

Since studying music (1977–1983) with dulcimer , button accordion and horn , he has played with various music and cabaret groups (Die Guglhupfa, Die Meiers, Trio Bavario, Never Been There, Augsburg Chamber Orchestra). Appearances in the Bavarian cabaret and cabaret scene as well as concerts on the stages of Im Schlachthof , Tollwood and Gasteig made him known.

His tours took him through Germany , Austria , Switzerland and many other European countries to Africa , South and Central America , Morocco , Tunisia , Belarus , India , China and Central Asia .

Over 30 CD productions of the dulcimer virtuoso appeared with classical, world music and cabaret . From 1989 to 2005 he also organized the international dulcimer festival in Munich every two years. After a break of more than eight years, the 10th and final festival took place from April 4 to 6, 2014 in Pliening .
