history
On the Josephine land survey of 1717 Rudna was entered with 30 houses. A military map from 1761 shows that the village was inhabited by Serbs . In 1783 some German families settled in Rudna. When the Rudna estates were sold by the Habsburgs in 1781 , they came into the possession of the imperial dignitaries Teodor Iancovici Mirievschi and Iovan Nicolici, merchants from Osijek .
Mirievschi had the castle built in Rudna in 1782. After Mirievschi went to Russia, the castle came into his possession through the marriage of Iovan Nicolici to the niece of his friend, Maria Iancovici. Later, his son inherited the fort and his son Fyodor Nikolici, who was governor of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1882 to 1886 .
After 1946 the fort was used to house border guards and in the 1960s the LPG moved into the building. After 1989 the building stood empty and was left to decay until it was bought and restored by Maria and Billy Radermacher from Germany in the early 2000s.
